Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

Once you try this homemade pumpkin spice latte recipe (better than Starbucks), it will become a Fall staple in your home! If you love the mix of pumpkin and spice, you will be making this every day of the Fall!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 shots of espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin spice syrup
  • 3/4 cup milk or cream dairy or non-dairy
  • Whipped cream optional
  • Extra pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon for garnish
Pumpkin Spice Syrup Ingredients
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice or equal parts cinnamon nutmeg, cloves, ginger
  • 4 tbsp pumpkin puree

Equipment

  • Espresso machine
  • Milk frother

Method
 

  1. Brew 2 shots of espresso (or about 1/2 cup of strong coffee) and pour it into your favorite mug.
  2. Stir in 2 tbsp of pumpkin spice syrup, adjusting to your desired sweetness level.
  3. Froth your milk or cream with a milk frother until it’s light and foamy, then gently pour it over your coffee.
  4. Top with whipped cream (optional) and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon. Enjoy!
Pumpkin Spice Syrup Recipe:
  1. Add all ingredients to a saucepan and stir on medium heat until sugar has desolved.
  2. Lower heat to low-medium and heat for 5 minutes. Don't let it simmer or boil.
  3. Remove from heat and strain using a fine mesh strainer into a glass jar or container.

Notes

  • Espresso Substitute: No espresso machine? No worries! Use strong brewed coffee or instant espresso powder.
  • Non-Dairy Options: Try almond, oat, or coconut milk for a creamy, dairy-free version.
  • Sweetness Control: Adjust the pumpkin spice syrup to taste or use a sugar alternative like honey or maple syrup.
