1cupmozzarella cheeseoptional: add some Asiago cheese for extra flavor
10pepperoni slices
2tbsphot honey(make a batch with 1/4 c. honey and 1 tsp sriracha)
Black pepperto taste
Italian seasoningto taste
Instructions
Preheat oven to 475°F. If using a pizza stone, place the stone in the oven for at least one hour while preheating.
Dust your work surface with flour or cornmeal. Roll out and shape the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
Transfer the shaped crust onto your pan or pizza stone. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving about 1 inch from the edge for a crust.
Sprinkle the mozzarella (and Asiago if using) over the sauce. Arrange pepperoni slices and other desired toppings on top. Sprinkle pepper and Italian seasoning over the pizza.
Brush the edges of the crust with olive oil (and herbs, if desired) for a golden brown finish.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
Meanwhile, combine honey and sriracha (or red chili flakes) in a bowl.
Drizzle hot honey over the pizza right before serving. Let cool and enjoy!
Notes
Dough Tips: Let your pizza dough come to room temperature before rolling it out to make it easier to stretch. For a crispier crust, try using a pizza stone if you have one.
Cheese: For extra flavor, mix in some Asiago cheese with the mozzarella. It adds a nice sharpness that complements the hot honey.
Hot Honey: Drizzle the honey after baking to keep its sweet and spicy kick intact. If you like a milder heat, reduce the amount to 1 tablespoon.
Baking: Keep an eye on the pizza in the last few minutes of baking. You want the cheese bubbly and the crust golden but not burnt.
