What You’ll Need for This Recipe

  • Water: you’ll need some water as a base for your syrup, so it’s the perfect consistency.
  • Coconut sugar (or sugar of choice): I love to use coconut sugar because of its nutrient count, lower glycemic index, and its 1:1 sugar measurement substitution. You can use your sugar or replacement of choice.
  • Maple syrup: this give the syrup an added deep flavor, and helps to sweeten the syrup even more.
  • Pumpkin pie spice (or equal parts cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger): a key ingredient to any pumpkin spice flavored recipe.
  • Pumpkin puree: of course, we need to add some canned pumpkin puree to the mix, as it will give the pumpkin flavor to the syrup.

Yes! You can substitute coconut sugar with regular sugar, honey, agave, or your preferred sugar alternative like monk fruit or stevia. Just keep in mind that the flavor and sweetness level might slightly differ.

When stored in an airtight glass jar in the refrigerator, this syrup can last up to two weeks. Just be sure to give it a good shake or stir before using it.
